Web Committee

The WAI web committee is responsible for overseeing and maintaining WAI’s web site and web-based resources and tools (excluding Zoom). The web committee oversees and maintains WAI's web site and web resources in a manner that:


  • Supports WAI in fulfilling it's primary purpose.
  • Abides by AA traditions and guidelines (MG-18, SMF-197)
  • Reflects AA principles in scope, content, and function.

Web Site & Web-Based Resources

The web committee manages WAI’s website and web-based resources, including:


  • General AA information
  • AA news & calendar events
  • AA meeting information
  • Email accounts for staff, committees, servants.
  • Web accounts (hosting, payments, cloud services, etc)
  • Web content (images, documents, calendars, etc)
  • Web-based tools (web forms, email/SMS, apps, etc)

WAI has established a Zoom committee tasked specifically with managing WAI's Zoom accounts and offering virtual meeting resources to support local AA groups.


Web Committee Tasks & Procedures

The web committee is responsible for the following:

  • Report on web-related spending, usage, updates or activities.
  • Post events and documents online as needed.
  • Update meetings and the Meeting Guide app feed (JSON file), as needed.
  • Ensure website is secure and functional.
  • Provide web assistance and support as needed.
  • Reset logins and manage email accounts as needed.
  • Assist with web-related issues as needed.

The web committee chair may rely on WAI staff or special workers with technical knowledge and skills to perform specific tasks or procedures.
